Paul Van Metre is the founder of DFM Partners. With decades of experience intimately involved with the design and manufacturing of custom and mass produced products, Paul can bring an unmatched level of expertise to cost reduction through design and process optimization. Paul has worked in all levels of the product development chain from design engineer, machinist, CNC programmer, educator and trainer, and president of a medium size manufacturing company. This broad base of experience helps bring a balanced approach to cost reduction through design and process optimization which is particularly effective and provides concrete results fast. Paul has trained over 500+ engineers in DFM techniques and consulted on thousands of mechanical designs. In several recent projects Paul helped reduce the cost of high volume consumer electronics products by several million dollars per year through detailed design and process optimization.
